North Texas Practical Shooters (NTPS) is a practical pistol shooting club that hosts USPSA pistol matches at the Lock N Load Pistol Club. NTPS is an affiliate club of the United States Practical Shooting Association. NTPS pistol matches are comprised of 5-6 different courses
of fire (stages), with each stage requiring between six and 32 rounds. Competitors are presented with a variety of obstacles to negotiate as well as a selection of target types at each stage in a match. Stages incorporate cardboard paper and steel knockdown targets.

Membership has a benefit of reducing the normal match fee by $10.00 per match as well. As a member, club matches are just $20.00. Non-members pay $30.00.

- NTP Shooters will be sponsoring an Intro to USPSA Shooting class on 4-11-09. The class will be held at the JPGC range. Class cost is just $15 and will be run by Master Class shooter Steve S. Online registration is available by going here. (Sorry, Class is FULL as of 3-30-09.)

- We held a classifier match on February 14th. Ken C. was the match director. We had (5) Classifier Stages and (2) Field Courses, one 32 round and one 25 round. The match was the first to use the new StageScore software and to use Infrared Thermal printers. We got great comments on having your results printed and will continue this at future matches.

- Lee N. was the MD for January....he had designed (6) stages plus (1) classifier for a minimum 155 round match. Thanks to all who helped setup and teardown the match. It was a very cold one but we still managed to have 27 shooters. This was our first match using the Palm scoring software and all reports were it functioned great. Scores were complete 5 minutes after the match was over. The Neel boys took top honors with Nick, the Junior winning HOA. Congratulations Nick on your first match win with an Open gun.

- The NTPS BoD built and painted 25 new walls. These were used at the January match and worked GREAT! Very heavy bases eliminated the need to stake down the walls even in the high winds. We will leave the walls stacked on the trailer for each of use next month.
